Appropriately inappropriate

In my roll as a music therapist, each day hosts new people with vast perspectives on living with a terminal illness. Like “Earl”   Who relies on his jovial nature as part of his normalcy. He laugh’s in the face of adversity, “Earl sometimes rides the edge of taking things to far” says his daughter. In the spirit of him laughing at his own finality, I played “Earl had to die” by the Dixie chicks. Never have I’ve seen a family laugh together like this. I too rode the edge of taking things too far but the family loved it. To sum up my gross inappropriatness they will be playing that song at his funeral!
